It has been a great privilege for me to hold the position of Chairman of the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group, Trowbridge since 1988.  Over the years, I have met many kind and generous people, some of whom have become special friends.  

My small but steadfast and reliable committee are outstanding people who give freely of their time and are dedicated to the Cancer charity.  Without their valuable help and assistance, called upon sometimes at the last minute, the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group, Trowbridge would not now be in existence.

Cancer patients at the RUH have ready access to state of the art equipment, extra facilities and rooms.  Urgent GP referrals for breast cancer are seen within two weeks in a one-stop clinic with all investigations performed at the same visit.

Everyone involved in raising money for the BCUSG is a volunteer, from small children and organisations to families and friends.  Without their help, not only would there be insufficient funds to purchase modern equipment but there would not be the high level of cancer awareness in our midst.

This year sees the 25th Anniversary of the BCUSG and this should be a wonderful opportunity to thank all those marvellous people who have donated or given their time freely for the Cancer Charity over the past ¼ century.  

May we continue to go from strength to strength.
