Geoff Parselle and Pat BCUSG's intrepid camera man
Geoff is of Welsh descent, being born in North Wales in 1945. at the age of 15, he joined the RAF as a "Boy Entrant" and trained for 18 months in all aspects of aerial and ground photography. On completion of this intensive training he was then posted to several UK stations which involved processing and developing survey filming from the V Bombers and Lightning aircraft (RAF flying display team of the 60's). He then spent time in Cyprus with Hunter aircraft, was posted back to the U.K. and promptly got married (1966) before a posting to Germany, again with Hunter aircraft. Geoff and his wife Pat spent 3 years there before returning to the U.K. After a year or so in the U.K., Geoff had an unaccompanied 10 month posting to RAF Gan, an Atoll in the Maldives before returning to the U.K. and specialising in recce and survey processing and printing interpretation. Geoff decided to leave the RAF in 1975 and joined Polaroid at St.Albans for a short period before taking up a post with the M.O.D based in Whitehall. in 1979, Geoff was posted to Blandford Camp in Dorset, having an interesting and enjoyable time for the next 8 years running the School of Signals photographic department, subsequently being posted to Foxhill in Bath, primarily supporting the Navy's technical side. Geoff retired in 2005 (MOD rules!!) with his last task being the photography and videoing of the vast underground complex at Corsham. Geoff has many interests and enjoys amongst others, hobbies that include Pat his wife, family life, DIY, gardening, Caravanning and Classic and Kit cars, being the proud owner of blue open topped Lomax 223 (a poor man's imitation Morgan!) Should you come across Geoff when out and about or at any of our Fund Raising Events (he makes no charge for his services to the Cancer Unit), be sure to say hello and give a big smile for the camera! Keep up the good work Geoff, it really is appreciated. ******************************************************************************************* Pictured below L - R
